Does Sin Come in Different Shades of Grey?

Sin in Shades of Gray
Mankind often sees bad things in the context of our own earthly laws.  According to our legal system, the levels of crime are infraction/public offense, misdemeanor, or a felony.  The punishment of a fine or jail time differs based on the final judgement in the court.  The judge in earthly courts makes their decision based on the level of crime committed and possibly whether or not they believe the defendant regrets the crime.

“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God
is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
 Romans 6:23 (KJV)

With that in mind, we might hear sins being interpreted at various levels too.  For instance many feel the BIG sins are those in the Ten Commandments from Exodus 20, a few feel there are middle-of-the-road sins are those of the flesh found in 1  Corinthians 6, and of course others believe the little selfish sins are mentioned in 2 Timothy 3. When it comes to the BIG ones, everyone agrees we should not do that!  After all, thecommandments are the basis of many man-made laws.  The mid-level sins are becoming more easily accepted in current society, as small but powerfully loud groups within the world have spent the last few decades working to convince  society and the Church that these are normal behaviors verses corrupt ones as the Bible says. What about the smaller sins?  Some might say they are more prevalent now with the ME generation, unfortunately we mere humans have been dancing around what action represent selfishness for centuries.

“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins,
and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” 1 John 1:9 (KJV)

What does the Bible say about how God sees sin? Are they really BIG, little, or somewhere in between?  God sees all sin!  Does He allow for  shades of grey in how sins are judged by Him?  All sinners will be judged the same when Judgement Day comes.  There are no fines or pardonable terms.  When it comes to judgement for sin - it is black or white, right or wrong, there is no in-between.  The sentence will be either imprisonment (aka death) in hell forever or freedom (aka life) in Heaven for eternity.   Possible pardon only comes before judgement by: confessing that we have sinned, repenting and seeking forgiveness, then following Jesus so that we do not return to those sinful ways.
