Where Does Sickness Come From?

Is sickness a punishment from God? God loves his children so much that he only wants good things for them.  God does occasionally chastise his children in order to turn them in he right direction and back towards living the Christian way.  God is a healer, not a spreader of decease.  However, some examples from the Bible teach that  He may allow a disease to continue until His people, who have strayed from Him, return to the path He wants for them.  To find His path: read the Bible and pray for forgiveness along with guidance.  God does not promise the path will be easy, instead he gives comfort and help along the way.

"Listen, son of mine, to what I say. Listen carefully.

Does illness come from satan? Sickness often is a result of sin and unhealthy habits.  Satan encourages sin and enjoys inflicting pain.  The pain may be physical illness or injury.  Pain could be mental or emotional distress: fear, anger, hate, selfishness, greed, etc. Satan attacks family, friends, and finances  to bring down his victims, often without their even realizing it.  To escape satan's grasp, it is necessary to turn back to God.  Those that do not escape will find life on earth hard and eventually end in the eternal prison of hell.
