Blessed Indeed!!!!

blessings, blessed indeed
The word INDEED is used in the Bible to emphasis a request (such as a for a blessing) or as statement of fact. Man's definitions follow these thoughts in dictionaries.  The Oxford dictionary shows the word indeed is used to: "emphasize a statement or response confirming something already suggested" or "introduce a further and stronger or more surprising point." Webster's definitions for indeed include: "without any question (truly, undeniably), in reality, all things considered (as a matter of fact)."

In a recent sermon on Elisha asking for a double blessing of what Elijah had from 2 Kings 2, Joel Osten mentioned the word INDEED.  If you read the stories of these prophets, you will find that Elijah performed many miracles and that Elisha did twice as many miracles.  Olsten said in the Bible using INDEED was the like putting four exclamation points behind the word preceding it.  His point was you can ask for more from God than you think you deserve.  However the blessings should not just be so you get more but so you are able to give more from those blessings.

"... Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast,
and that thine hand might be with me,
and that thou wouldest keep me from evil,
that it may not grieve me!
And God granted him that which he requested.
- 1 Chronicles 4:10

Joseph Prince spoke about blessing indeed for Abraham and Sarah in the book of Genesis.  His sermon was more about how Godly people sometimes doubt the promises of God.  Even though Christians occasionally doubt, God still honors their faith.  He still loves you and plans to continue to bless you as a child of God.

Although God wants to give you many blessings, it does not mean you will not have to work or that you will not suffer.  Remember in the book of Job, that he got double what he had before after he came out of his tribulation put upon him by Satan.
