Many times in history, leaders have called for a day of prayer to help after natural disasters or for physical healing. Why? Wise leaders know there is power in faithful prayer. When people join together in one mind they can move many obstacles. When Christians pray together, power comes down, and great things happen. Prayer works whether you are alone and in different places or if you are together praying with others in the same room.
A national day of prayer is a good and wise thing, not only does it bring people back to their religious roots. It can bring emotional, financial, physical, mental, or spiritual healing. It can also bring the lost back to Christ during prayer or after having seen the results of answered prayers. However, real prayer is not meant to be a one-time thing our of necessity. Often continual, fervent prayer is required for true healing to happen.
First Thursday in May is USA day of prayer. Five things to pray for nation/s health and hope.
"Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church;
and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:
And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up;
and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.
Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed.
The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much."
The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much."
- James 5:14-16 (KJV)
